Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP) will host five capital briefings in the Philadelphia region over the next few weeks. These briefings will introduce a streamlined
pre-application process designed to provide entrepreneurs more immediate feedback on their investment opportunity as well as the types of BFTP/SEP resources that may be available to assist them.

BFTP/SEP holds these capital briefings for technology company entrepreneurs and business advisors that seek investment for technology development, commercialization and/or working capital. Regardless of the type of technology or the company’s stage of development, entrepreneurs and business advisors are encouraged to learn about BFTP/SEP’s application process and investment programs.

On January 9-11, 2006, the City of Philadelphia will host the first Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit at The University of the Arts. PANEL DESCRIPTIONS

Life sciences researchers, biotechnology companies, and investors are encouraged to attend this one half day conference to better understand the funding environment for the biotechnology industry. Leading pharmaceutical and investment executives will present panel discussions and answer audience questions. Temple University’s health sciences and engineering resources will be on exhibit.

1. Venture Capital. What can both sides expect in a venture capital financing deal? What are some strategies to cope with demands for board and management control and equity control? When should you walk away from a round of financing?

Our DSV Venture Forum this Friday, September 23 will feature a special luncheon speaker:

Jonathan J. Kall, a self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in management, engineering, and marketing of industrial automation and information systems companies. He is an active angel investor, venture capitalist, and business management consultant.

A highly regarded visionary in his field, Mr. Kall has had several successful technology start-ups, including his most recent sale of Interwave Technology to a Fortune 500 industrial automation company.

As our luncheon speaker on Friday, Mr. Kall will discuss "Lessons Learned from a Fellow Entrepreneur Now Angel Investor."

Of course, preceding Mr. Kall's luncheon presentation will be presentations from an exciting line-up of entrepreneurial, technology-based companies seeking funding to support their business growth. Companies selected to present have proven business models, most are post-revenue, and have well thought-out strategies to rapidly expand their businesses.
