Participants will learn:
Budgeting
How to track, prioritize, and plan spending and asset development.
The importance of maintaining accurate, complete and timely business records.
Income & expense details.
The importance of maintaining separate business & personal records.
Credit
How credit histories can impair the ability of entrepreneurs to obtain the necessary capital to run or grow a business.
How to obtain, read, dispute, and improve their credit reports.
How even modest improvements to their credit reports can have a significant impact on their credit worthiness.

Learn about the benefits options available for small businesses. The focus will be on constructing health, retirement, & pension benefits for you and your small business. Meet with representatives from benefits providers.

Workshop: Basic Financial Accounting & Taxes
An experienced CPA will teach you how to make good business decisions, how to monitor your business, how to comply with tax laws, and how to plan your future growth with some basic accounting tools.
Get a basic understanding of financial statements and related terms. Learn what the key financial ratios are and how to use them. Analyze if your business is strong enough to support a loan. Get a basic understanding of taxes for small business.

Workshop: Strategic Business Planning
Address the quantitative and qualitative issues necessary to create a draft business plan with a situation analysis, conduct a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis, examine and develop financial projections, and identify areas of the business plan that need additional research and analysis. Critique an existing business or business idea to validate if there is a sustainable business model.
This course is geared towards entrepreneurs who are starting their businesses or who are already in business and want to take their business to the next level.
Wednesdays, June 22 & 29 and July 13 & 20 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Fee: $25 per part ($100 total); cost includes one other person working on business.
$25 per part is a special discount geared towards applicants to the New Profiteer Business Plan Competition.
