Internship-in-a-Box Distribution Hits Record Numbers

May was a big month for employers interested in creating meaningful internships for college and university students. Last month, employers downloaded more than 1,600 Internship-in-a-Box manuals from the CareerPhilly Web site (www.careerphilly.com). This free, innovative step-by-step program helps businesses and organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region design an internship program to meet their needs.

Summer is a time when many employers hire interns for extra help to fill in for their employees during the summer vacation season, and to get some of those projects completed that have been on the back burner for months. Interns are also an inexpensive recruiting tool and add diversity and youthful energy in the workplace. There is still time to find interns for the summer or begin creating an internship program for the fall.

Visit the CareerPhilly Web site to download a free copy of the Internship-in-a-Box manual. Once you have crafted an internship program that fits your individual needs, place your listing on the CareerPhilly Web site to find the perfect intern. For more information on the Internship-in-a-Box program or the CareerPhilly initiative, contact CareerPhilly at cpinfo@ipphila.com.
