(11/06/05) Deadline for Creative Economy Presentations

On January 9-11, 2006, the City of Philadelphia will host the first Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit at The University of the Arts. The Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit will attract approximately 500 business and technology leaders, entrepreneurs, and arts and cultural leaders from across the U.S. and around the globe to learn best practices of how creative economies are generating wealth. The Summit will be unique and engaging for all participants as they share experiences and learn how the creative industries interact and converge, generate wealth, businesses and jobs within their communities.

We invite any individual, practitioner, administrator, researcher, innovator, business and technology leader, entrepreneur, artist, or cultural leader who is willing to share his/her experience or expertise within one or more of the following five themes to submit a proposal to participate in the Summit.

The themes include:
1. Creative Economy 101: The Criteria for Success
2. Creative Cityscapes: Developing Diverse and Interactive Environments
3. Funding Creative Ideas and Industries
4. New Creative Technologies for Reaching New Audiences
5. Creative Human Capital: The Key to Sustainable Growth
